Preparing our FUTURE
twenty40 YPG in partnership with the Americus Rotary Club hosted the 2nd Annual Mock Interviews with the CTAE Department at Americus-Sumter High School. Led by leadership member, Jimmy Whaley, the program was created to help high school juniors and seniors to be more prepared for real interviews and the real world. With the help of community leaders, in 2019, 50 interviews were conducted; this year over 128 students participated in the mock interviews.
The Depressed Millennial Part II
A SERIOUS DISCUSSION ON SUICIDE AND VULNERABILITY
twenty40 YPG, the Americus-Sumter Alumni and Lambda Psi chapters of Kappa Alpha Psi Friday held Part II to its Depressed Millennial workshop series featuring keynote speaker, Charkela Gaston-Molden. Gaston-Molden provided informative and insightful information on the topic of suicide and vulnerability. As young professionals, as millennials, as young adults...having conversations on mental health is just as important as having conversations about "securing the bag". Mental health awareness is important to our over all well-being. Don't be afraid to reach out to someone if you're dealing with stress, anxiety, and/or depression.
TOYS of JOY 2019
A CHRISTMAS OUTREACH INITIATIVE
This year twenty40 Young Professionals Group partnered with Geno’s Pressure Washing, LLC to host the 2nd Annual Toys of Joy Giving Tree. The Toys of Joy Giving Tree is a community initiative that aims to support organizations in the Americus-Sumter County community whose purpose is to provide resources to those less fortunate. This year the initiative collected donated items— clothing or toys— to help support Sumter County Head Start and the Sumter County Department of Family and Children Services. With the help of the community, we were able to provide 22 children with either clothing or toys and/or both. We are very grateful for the kindness shown by the community. The support shown by those who donated items speaks to what the initiative is all about— the greatest gift of all is being a blessing to someone else. We hope that with the years to follow, the Toys of Joy Giving Tree will continue to bring our community together for a great cause and brighten a child’s holiday season.

TOYS of JOY 2018
A CHRISTMAS OUTREACH INITIATIVE
A part of twenty40’s mission is to give back to the community. During the holiday season, members and the leadership team of twenty40 held its first annual Christmas Community Outreach Initiative. The “Toys for Joy” toy drive was a twenty40 community initiative led by cofounder BroDrick Engram. Unwrapped toys and clothes were collected for children between the ages of 1-12. Over two hundred toys were collected. The collected toys were donated, respectively, to Called to Care-Sumter and the local DFACS department. Called to Care-Sumter is a Christian outreach organization that supports children in foster care. For the last couple of years, our close friends and now twenty40 have collected toys to support families assisted by the local DFACS department. With Brock’s passion and support from twenty40’s leadership team and members, we are extremely grateful that the Americus-Sumter County community supported the toy drive and we were able to bless many families this holiday season.
Because of twenty40's leadership team and members kind monetary donations, during Thanksgiving 2018, we were able to support 7 families in our community with gifts of faith and the blessing of hope.
